Norman Lindsay (1879-1969) was an Australian artist & sculptor famous for his etchings and book illustrations.

Satyrs on a Raid is a collotype of a wash drawing that was used as an illustration to 'Satyrs and Sunlight' published in 1928 by The Fanfrolico Press in an edition of 550 copies.

Pierluigi Praturlon (1924-1999) was an Italian photographer. Working with Fellini on La Dolce Vita (1960) legend has it that he encouraged the actress Anita Ekberg to take a dip in Rome’s Trevi fountain. The subsequent film scene became iconic for Italian cinema in the 1960’s.

Ivo Saliger (1894-1987) studied painting and etching at the Academy in Vienna.

“Der Artz, das Mädchen und der Töt” displays the struggle of his sister suffering from leukemia. He started the etching in 1919 and finished it after she died. Meant as a tribute to the work of doctors the etching was made available in an unlimited edition.

Our copy was originally obtained from the heritage of the Saliger family. It displays the watermark of the etcher left below.

In Jeune Femme Nue Alanguie he perceptively contrasts the lingering eroticism of his barely dressed model with the melancholic stare of her deep blue eyes.
